Native River Grasses

This work is an exploration of the native grasses that can be found at the rivers edge. Kanamaluka / Tamar River is a place where many native plants continue to germinate and thrive. A beautiful array of tones, textures and structures can be found in this environment. There are subtle and bright colour contrast that focus your eye to vast horizons and also draw your attention to the macro details of this place.

Chloe is an emerging artist making abstract works inspired by the Tasmanian landscape. Her work is motivated by and reflects both the vastness and intimacy of place. Growing up along Kanamaluka/Tamer River has provided an endless source for artistic exploration. While the landscapes of my childhood occur frequently I am also drawn to various landscapes across Lutruwita including the southern coastline and the majestic beauty of Kunanyi Mt. Wellington above Nipaluna Hobart where I am currently based.

I work in both Acrylic on canvas or wood panel and Gouache on paper.
