The focus of this work is a small inlet I have visited for much of my life, along the kanamaluka river in Deviot, Tasmania. For me this place encourages a quiet contemplation. It is an exploration of the receding tide and the energy of the river. Creating a visual language that replicates a way of seeing this landscape. Painting and mark making becomes an extension of my understanding of the physical and intangible elements of place

I predominantly work with Gouache on paper, I also paint in acrylic on canvas. Most of the works on paper are unframed as it is often better to have them framed locally near you and reduces the risk of breaking glass in shipping. However, bluethumb also offer framing on most works when you purchase. Please get in contact if you would like to commission an artwork

Chloe has a Bachelor of Arts and Fines Arts from the University of Tasmania
