Artwork Description

The term “yoga” is also used to describe a comprehensive practice and a way of life. It is estimated to be at least 5,000 years old, originating in India and brought to the west in the 1920s. Yoga has been described as the ancient Indian science of self-realization, or the ancient science of self-culture.  Mindful yoga is a focus on knowing what you are experiencing while you are experiencing it. It is moment-to-moment awareness, has the quality of being in the now, a sense of freedom, of perspective, of being connected, not judging”.

The design of this collection of art works are designed to be not only aesthetically pleasing, but to create a sense of peace and harmony in the home or office. The collection feature a number of Figures in Yoga poses or Asana's done in an abstract style in navy blue, with white line and black line elements. The symbology behind this represents mind, body and soul.

Presented in a black frame with white mount these artworks will look great in almost any interior design application, while reflecting the inhabitants of living space in a physical or mental sense.

Artist Bio

Chris Cox is an abstract and contemporary landscape artist based in the Southern Tablelands of NSW just north of Canberra. His passion for creativity flourished early and grew from an admirable hobby to a full-time career as an artist.

Although his works exhibit complexity and strategic brushwork, much of his value lies in the arms of simplicity. Chris' core focus is to ' capture moments ', most commonly the simpler, everyday moments that are often overlooked. Chris' ongoing interest with interior design has encouraged the diverse and suitable nature of his works, both enhancing the finer spaces with delicate sized paintings to larger areas with bold canvas works designed to reflect his core motives.
