“Pockets of History” encompasses many aspects of my artistic career, particularly my development toward multilayered, complex works of mixed media and the depiction of my people.
The work developed very slowly, building-up layers of washes, collage, drawing and ideas to reflect the way we live and have lived; our layers of history.
As in all my complex works, the more you look, the more you see. I delight in receiving feedback from many purchases of my works detailing how my works generate much discussion about content and technique by visitors to their homes.
This work, like many, took years to complete due to its complexity in process and concept, so I was particularly pleased to have won the “Other Media Section” of the Bacchus Marsh Rotary show in June 2019, as judged by Katharina Prugger -Contemporary Arts Project Officer, National Gallery of Victoria.
I like to create the image for you, the viewer’s story.
