The Gouldian Finches are rare beautiful little birds found in the upper part of Western Australia and the Northern Territory. There are only about 2,500 in the wild with the greatest threats to them being fire patterns and grazing of other animals as they are grassland birds.
The painted surface is a lovely textured card β Arches 300gsm Watercolour paper, in natural white 100% cotton, painted in professional Winsor & Newton watercolours and gouache for a richness in colour.
The 20x20cm work has been mounted to a cradle board, sealed with cold wax, and framed in a beautiful black timber. It's ready to hang with d-rings and wire (final size is 23 x 23cm). The wax protects the watercolour from the elements so it does not need to be behind glass. The wax also gives it a shinier finish, as seen in the photos. For upkeep, it simply needs to be wiped over with a lint-free cloth.
It is signed on the front, and accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
