These hues have been inspired by all the beautiful bougainvillea flowers that bloomed when I lived in Darwin and the Whitsundays. Brilliant deep pinks, soft pinks, orange, purple, white and golden yellows against coastal hues. Also colours reflect the Dulux colour forecast for 2024. This painting was inspired by wanting to paint something tranquil and calm as now being in a world pandemic we are surrounded by so much negative news and worry. I also wanted to paint something that was therapeutic for myself as a lot of my usual art subjects require a bit of math and measurement. This was a free flowing painting, finding my zen. It reflects pebbles in water which again is very calm and soothing. This versions background has a light texture. A mix of blues, deep blue, turquoise, greeny blues, deep magenta, salmon pinks, soft pinks, greens, purple, white and yellow. The close up images show the colours well. All of my pebble paintings are different using different colours and also the pebbles placements. This one has a gloss varnish to bring out the colour even more.
