Artwork Description

An abstract take on the Australian Outback. Having traveled through the centre of Australia and living in Darwin I have a close connection. I love traveling outback as you feel very free and love the contrasting landscapes. I am also doing a commission of this in a portrait format and inspired by their travels through the Flinders Ranges, South Australia. This painting is super textured in very Australiana colours which change with different lighting as used metallic golds in the hills, ochre, orange, browns, greens for the trees and bushes and blues for the sky and the water. This painting was hard to photograph and looks much better in real life. Ready to hang, painted around the edges.

Artist Bio

Award-winning artist Miranda Lloyd expresses a deep connection to her natural surroundings. Living in the foothills, her enthusiasm for painting is inspired by her own backyard and a desire to bring the “outside, inside,” while complementing her modern lifestyle. A passionate surfer, Miranda often reflects the ocean in her work. Her paintings exaggerate nature’s lines, shapes, and colours, resulting in a modern blend of abstract impressionism and contemporary style. Miranda won a finalist award in the Brand South Australia Regional Business Awards 2014. 2017 Miranda was selected by the Director of Arts and Health to exhibit 28 of her large paintings in the New Royal Adelaide Hospital. A 2.3 billion dollar build. 2018 Miranda's artworks were published in a hardcover Australian Art Book along with 54 other iconic Australian country artists. Her art and profile has been used by an American University ( The Art Of Education University) with 9 other international nature artists as a resource for their program. Miranda’s work and bio will also be featured in Australia’s Home Design magazine with 11 other artists.
