Fire Cracker Night: Abstract Painting on Canvas

This original painting was a continuation of my recent experiment in using different techniques to apply the paint. The work was created using Sponges, rags, plastic and scrapers, in fact almost anything but brushes.

The work is directly influenced by Graffiti in City Laneways, Vintage Billboards and other weathered surfaces.

The work is also inspired by childhood memories of Cracker Night, blue smoke and vivid colour fireworks shooting dangerously in random directions often at the spectators. Ahh the good old days when family fun included an element of danger!

This artwork has a textured finish created by built up layers of paint. Insitu examples are not to scale.

The work comes on a stretched canvas and is ready to hang.
