Abstract Painting on Paper
by Brendan Walsh (ColdGhost)
Abstract Urban Landscape
This original large mixed media painting was a continuation of my recent experiment in using different techniques to apply the paint.
The work was created using Recycled Street Posters & Cardboard layered up to create textures.
Then the paint was applied using Rollers, rags, scrapers, spray packs, Paint Pens and pencils and the final layers with my fingers.
I have been using anything except brushes as I continue to explore ways of applying the paint to the surface.
The work is an Abstract Statement Piece that would create maximum impact to any room.
This artwork is directly influenced by Graffiti in City Laneways, Vintage Billboards and other weathered surfaces.
The work is very textured from the thick built up layers of paper and paint.
This piece was also inspired by my love of gestural abstraction and my obsession with using spray paint.
Insitu examples are not to scale.
The work comes in a white frame, mounted under clear protective perspex and is ready to hang.
