SOMEWHERE SOMEDAY
Abstract Painting on Canvas
by Brendan Walsh (ColdGhost)
This original large mixed media painting was a continuation of my recent experiment in using spray paint, brushes and liquid pigment to explore memories and the edges of perception.
Somewhere Someday is a positive thought that came to mind as I was painting this abstract so I included this font at the end, and can be interpreted however the viewer receives it.
The work is very textured, with layers of and paint on the surface of the canvas.
Other techniques are used to apply the paint, this includes using Rollers, sponges, scrapers, spray packs, Paint Pens and pencils and even with my fingers.
The work is an Abstract Statement Piece that would create maximum impact to any room.
This artwork is directly influenced by Graffiti in City Laneways, Vintage Billboards and other weathered surfaces.
This piece was also inspired by my love of gestural abstraction and my obsession with using spray paint and the colour palette hints at the Australian Bush..
Insitu examples are not to scale.
The mixed media work comes on a stretched canvas & is painted black around the edges and is ready to hang.
