Here i was influenced by the stories i was told as a child of the light of the day, we were told that no matter what we were afraid of, the light of day would take all the bad away, and with the light of day became fresh, a new start if you will, and it can be whatever you make of it.

Artist Bio

Craig Buchanan is a proud South Australian Aboriginal man. His language group is the Boandick (Tanganekald ) His family group of Nenkandoli Lakalinyeri of the Coorong. South Australia. Craig has tried to develop his own style. His main aim is to create awareness of the Aboriginal culture. Craig was born in Melbourne, Australia. Both parents died when he was two, so he lived with an uncle but he two died tragically, Craig and his twin brother then ended up in foster care, there they had a tormented childhood, till finding living relatives at the age of 16yrs, Craig bounced around from home to home. Now married with a family of his own. He was forced to retire after an injury at work, he found himself involved in several committees.
After having a cousin stay for a while he became intrigued with the way his cousin did his dot paintings. He then became involved in learning the process of dot painting. He began to put his own twist and style in each of his paintings. Each Painting is an original and comes with a certificate of Authenticity with each purchase. A lot of my paint is made by hand in the traditional way, but not all paints used are made in this manner, some are store bought. but there is a little of traditional paint used in each painting.
