Artwork Description

Days of Wine and Roses - 18 x 24 IN / 46 x 61 CM - Abstract Floral Painting on Un-stretched Canvas

"Days of Wine and Roses" is inspired by the arrival of the new year—a time of renewal and hopeful beginnings. Inspired by a unique bouquet, this abstract floral painting captures the fleeting beauty of a moment suspended between past and future. Layers of luminous color, rich texture, and light and dark evoke the quiet magic of nature’s endless renewal, whispering of seasons past and the promise of blossoms yet to unfold.

Artist Bio

Cynthia Ligeros draws her inspiration from the dynamic and constantly-evolving urban landscapes that surround us, as well as the pristine beauty of the natural world. Each of her paintings is born from a singular, driving emotion that informs every brushstroke and composition.

She begins her creative process with an under-painting that allows organic forms to develop on the canvas. Through an artistic dialogue with the piece, she composes and unifies these forms until a finished abstract painting emerges that reflects the cycles, emotions, and equilibrium of our ever-changing environment.

This layering technique is emblematic of the broader themes in her work: the tension between the hard edges of our structured world and the organic contours of the natural world. Cynthia's art is a metaphorical exploration of the idea of the subconscious self unifying with the higher self to achieve wholeness.

Her artwork has been acquired by the University of Colorado Boulder, St. Regis Hotels, The Longmont Justice Center, and collectors across the United States and Canada, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Her work has been showcased in prestigious locations such as the Denver International Airport, the Madden Museum, and Denver Botanic Gardens, as well as in galleries spanning from San Francisco to New York City.
