The Brightest Hour started with the hope of always improving, and always growing brighter, like the beauty of a luminous sunrise. It was inspired by the first rays of sunlight breaking through gray clouds, glowing with white light, and releasing a breathtaking blue sky, promising a shining new day.
The painting process I used lends itself to creating organic forms, which I then tighten up with structural lines. This technique mirrors the larger theme of my work: the hard edges of our structured world contrasted against the organic forms of the natural world.
