Gairnshiel Bridge is a one-lane, single-arch, bridge on the A939 near Ballater in Scotland. It was built of rubble by Caulfield contractors in 1751 as a military bridge. In the background is Gairnshiel Lodge. This is a view of the last snows of early Spring in April 2013. Pencil, ink and watercolours on 300gsm rough texture Arches paper. 21 cm high by 29.5 cm wide by 0.1 cm deep approximately. A4 standard size. Unframed.
