Artwork Description

Watercolour on paper

Signed certificate of authenticity.

A Springtime view of the waterlily lake in the garden of French Impressionist artist Claude Monet. Monet's house and garden in Giverny, north west of Paris, is visited by hundreds of thousands of garden lovers each year. Clearly, Springtime is the best time to wander through the gardens which are filled with a kaleidoscope of coloured flowers. However, it would appear that the nymphéas (waterlilies) were not yet in flower in this painting.
