Artwork Description

This work of art is an abstract representation of the view across The Bay of Port Phillip from Mornington to Melbourne. By paring down the components of the scene to the essential elements, I wanted to capture the essence of this area's natural beauty in a simple, yet striking way. I have highlighted the structure and basic form of the land, the shoreline, and the horizon line connecting the two sides of the bay. The subtle use of colour and light further emphasizes the impact of the scene, creating a peaceful atmosphere that conveys the vastness of the landscape. The painting is a representation of the Bayside region encompassing the geographic area spanning Mornington to Melbourne. It is a unique visual representation of this particular view across The Bay of Port Phillip.

Artist Bio

I'm a contemporary painter specialising in medium to large format abstract artwork. I use a variety of mediums to create abstract compositions that reflect the beauty and complexity of life. My paintings are characterized by hard lines, bold blocks of saturated colour, and intricate geometric compositions. Paintings often feature overlapping geometric shapes, circles, and lines that create an interplay of light and shadow. I strive to express the tension between the seemingly mundane and the extraordinary, creating works of art that challenge viewers to look beyond the surface and find hidden meaning and insight. My goal is to create artwork that is both visually striking and emotionally resonant.
