Whatever doesn’t kill you, simply makes you stranger

A little painting inspired by another of my all time favs. The Dark Knight.

This is early in the film where the Joker (Heath Ledger) is wearing the mask and robbing the bank.

3 coats of gloss varnish have been applied to protect the artwork. The gloss gives the piece a glassy finish, and really brings out all the colour in this piece.

This piece is ready to hang, has a wire at the back, and the edges are painted. Or you could add a frame through Bluethumb during purchase.

Based near Wollongong on the NSW East Coast of Australia, Darren King is a multidisciplinary artist working across collage, printmaking, mixed media, and painting. Over the past five years, he has honed a distinctive visual language that merges traditional and contemporary techniques.

His art captures the beauty of the ordinary and evokes a playful nostalgia, celebrating the local, the joyous, the tasty or the long-forgotten.

King’s work has been featured on Selling Houses Australia (Annandale 2025), earned multiple art awards, and been exhibited in numerous group shows and art prizes.
