When I walked onto this beautiful beach on the NSW South Coast, it was early morning. The wonderful little headland was glorious, back lit by a spectacular flare of blinding sun. I’m fascinated by landscapes with the sun coming straight at me, and I knew the second I saw this scene I would try to convey with paint the luminous atmosphere it created. I really wanted to capture the glare, and the washed out, over exposed look of the headland.
