Artwork Description

The glare of sunlight bouncing off the pale coloured clay & rock set against a vivid blue sky. Lightning ridge is well known for its opal and the landscape is dotted with mullock heaps and old mine shafts. It is a different landscape and despite the impact of the opal mining it retains a rather unique beauty. I paint in a realist/impressionist style, seeking accuracy in tone and colour, in an attempt to capture something of the feel of the location.
