Original Artwork by David White
My style does not work to its best advantage with all animals. My favorite subject is male lions where I can apply a variety of color and shapes that result in an image unlike any other you've ever seen. But owls, bears and some dogs also work well
My path in art began in 1975 when I joined the Grand Valley Artists in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I am an engineer and starting in 1980 I worked internationally nearly continuously until I retired at the end of 2005. It was then that I picked up a pencil and paintbrush to renew my journey in art that I left for 25 years. I paint virtually everyday and have explored many subjects and styles over the years. My focus now is painting animals in acrylic paint on stretched canvas. My style might be considered Pop Art, although I'm not sure that is really a good fit. I use a wide variety of color in my paintings and the shapes are outlined giving them a bright and unique presence. Parallels might be given to stained glass or mosaic art works. I've exhibited in several local art shows over the years and have enjoyed many sales.
