Artwork Description

The title of this painting is taken from the poem, "The Season of Phantasmal Peace" by Derek Walcott. The painting is heavily textured, built up of multiple layers, with thick lumps and drips applied vigorously. The sides of the canvas are painted, and the painting (and sides) is sealed beneath a glossy varnish.

NOTE: This artwork can be hung without an external frame. In situ photographs that include a frame are for illustrative purposes only. Should you wish to frame the artwork, Bluethumb offer a variety of options.

I enjoy painting in different styles and my works range from abstract to abstract figurative, pop art to expressionism, in addition to impressionist works. My paintings are often expressed as simple and balanced compositions. I often use bold blocks of colour and outlines to anchor my designs that (I hope) are sometimes spiritual, fantastical, political, and in the tradition of modern and humanist art. As I develop my paintings, I try not to aim for perfection or precision, instead I focus on an idea, an effect and a mood. My ideas and how I apply them to the canvases are seldom subtle and my intention is for the artworks to be striking and distinctive.
