This painting was selected as a finalist for the 2023 Bluethumb Art Prize and was on display at the Bluethumb Gallery in Richmond, Melbourne for the 2023 Bluethumb Art Prize Finalists Exhibition in October and November 2023.
My paintings are often expressed as simple and balanced compositions. I often use bold blocks of colour and outlines to anchor my designs that (I hope) are sometimes spiritual, fantastical and in the tradition of modern and humanist art. As I develop my paintings, I try not to aim for perfection or precision, instead I focus on effect and mood.
