In this large-scale abstract expressionist painting, I wanted to express a sense of seasonal abundance through bold colour. Organic forms interlock and stretch across the surface, creating pathways and rhythms that can be read in many ways. Importantly, I wanted the canvas to function as an expression of joy. Vivid splashes, drips, and tangled lines were added in a free, intuitive manner, yet each decision was deliberate and hopefully invites the viewer to discover their own patterns or emotional responses within the painting.
This artwork will never become a print and will remain a 'one of a kind' piece.
The surface of this painting is heavily textured, built up of multiple layers, with lumps and drips. The sides of the canvas are also painted, and the painting is sealed beneath a glossy varnish.

BIO: My ideas and how I apply them to the canvases are seldom subtle and my intention is for the artworks to be striking and distinctive. I like to explore emotion and expression through colour and shape. I often use bold blocks of colour and outlines to anchor my designs that (I hope) are sometimes spiritual, fantastical, political, and in the tradition of modern and humanist art. As I develop my paintings, I focus on an idea, an effect, and a mood. I enjoy painting in different styles and my works range from abstract to abstract figurative, abstract expressionism to pop art, in addition to impressionist works.
