Artwork Description

This contemporary abstract expressionist painting is an exploration of colour, rhythm, and organic growth. Layers of acrylic paint have been built up to create a richly textured surface that suggests a landscape in bloom.
Like many of my paintings, the work balances spontaneity with structure. The background is intuitive and gestural, while the repeated leaf-like forms introduce a sense of rhythm, movement, and continuity. Through this interplay of colour and form, I wanted to evoke a sense of growth, renewal, and the interconnected patterns found in nature. Small bird forms are woven into the composition, reinforcing a sense of life, movement, and belonging within the landscape.

NOTE: This artwork can be hung without an external frame (edges are 4cm thick and painted and varnished). Should you wish to frame the artwork, Bluethumb offer a variety of excellent options. In situ photographs provide an indication of the painting's size and are as accurate as possible. Please take note of the painting's actual measurements and size in relation to your wall.

My paintings are often expressed as simple and balanced compositions. I love using bold blocks of colour and outlines to anchor my designs that (I hope) are sometimes spiritual, fantastical and in the tradition of modern and humanist art.

Artist Bio

My ideas and how I apply them to the canvases are seldom subtle and my intention is for the artworks to be striking and distinctive. I explore emotion and expression through colour and shape. I often use bold blocks of colour and outlines to anchor my designs that (I hope) are sometimes spiritual, fantastical, political, and in the tradition of modern and humanist art. As I develop my paintings, I focus on an idea, an effect, and a mood. I enjoy painting in different styles and my works range from abstract to abstract figurative, pop art to expressionism, in addition to impressionist works.
