House Proud Great Bower Bird

The Great Bowerbird from far Northern Western Australia builds and maintains its nest of twigs and grasses and decorates it with hundreds of ornamental white and blue objects like stones and pieces of bone interspersed with green glass. The complex structure of the nest and the decorative entrance was the inspiration for this artwork.
The painting has been framed professionally in a black and wood look frame, making it ready to hang. It would look especially good in an area that has houseplants, in the home or office.

Deb Long is now based on the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula at Goolwa Beach in South Australia and takes inspiration from the beauty of the natural environment whether it be sea or land. After many years of teaching full time retirement
has now made it possible for her to continue her painting passion in her new purpose built working space.
Recurring themes in Deb’s work are the stories told by nature and the use of light and shadow to enhance what is seen using acrylics and oils as her mediums of choice. She strives to capture the mood and feeling of a place through the use of colour and brushstroke, thus giving the viewer a sense of place. Her style invites the viewer to engage with the scene and enjoy the beauty that nature has to offer.
Deb enjoys travelling to different places and revisiting old favourites, continuing to take inspiration from the landscape. Birds, flora and unique landscapes continue to delight the viewer.
