Ballarat East Fire Station

Whenever I visit my parents on the outskirts of Ballarat, never did I stop and marvel at the oldest continuously operating fire station in the Southern Hemishere... until just recently!
The fire station is a magnificent structure of such historical and architectural significance considering its age, which dates back to the gold rush era.
Using my line and colour technique on a perfect spring day, it allowed me to enhance the red brick colour with structural lines and shapes. It breathes as a living piece of heritage in modern day society and a must to paint for those who love history, nostalgia and striking architecture. I hope you like Ballarat like I do xx

Hello everyone!
I have travelled far and wide with my husband's work for 20 odd years to numerous states around Australia and twice to the USA. I suppose you can call me a defence spouse, Army style!
It was during a posting to the US where I became the 'accidental artist', painting local scenes around Leavenworth County, Kansas and selling my art through word of mouth! This crazy journey has inspired me to continue my love for painting scenes throughout Australia
I feel my artwork is, by virtue, the colours I see and the lines that define them. My art is bright, bold, joyful, unique depictions of life around me through numerous journeys I've encountered in a nature loving form. I draw inspiration from female artists in Maude Lewis, Georgia O'Keefe and Heather Brown who created their own distinct styles and a belief in themselves
For me and my art style, I seek collectors who dare to venture into bright pop/ naive/ contemporary art.
I focus mainly on acrylics and black markers using small to medium size canvas or acrylic paper. Certain picture frames are repurposed and matted with love to reduce the landfill we humans love to create.
I want my artwork to be different, a little obscure, very animated, yet recognisable to admire.
I hope to bring a visual flair to those who adore creative, quirky pieces that express pure joy and an illustrative love of life around us. Your blank wall or tiny computer nook may need a dose of gladness to brighten your
