Artwork Description

Add a pop of orange and some nostalgia to your home with this cool Trilogy of True Crime Book Covers! Featuring ‘Hell’s Angels’, ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ and ‘In Cold Blood’.
On a base of book pages, which I have attached to stretched canvas. I have layered spray paint and acrylic paint using stencils and freehand silhouettes to create this cute series, which explores classic Penguin book titles.
Rather than writing the title of the book for a bit of fun the penguin acts out the scene getting the viewer to guess the title, I have added the Authors names Hunter S. Thompson, Karen Blumenthal and Truman Capote, as it really is their works of art.
It has blackened edges and has been finished with satin varnish, signed on the front ‘Debstar’ my street name :) and is ready to hang.
Dimensions of Canvas: 122cm wide x 51cm high x 3.5cm deep
Weight: Approx. 2.5kg

Artist Bio

Deborah Lang aka Debstar, works from her home based Brisbane Studio.

She’s a mixed media artist known for her bright colours and works on book pages.

Exploring textures and playing with different mediums and subjects is how she keeps her zest for creativity!

Her subjects pop out from the canvas which are oozing with texture, her paintings are varied as she takes inspiration from the world around her, especially drawing on the simplicity and beauty of the everyday.

Her latest collection by Lumière are works on wood panel crafted to evoke a symphony of light, texture, and emotion with a sense of quiet luxury.
Each piece captures a moment suspended in abstraction. Rich textures, layered pigments, and subtle metallics evoke movement, mood, and introspection.
Deborah’s artworks are displayed in commercial and residential premises throughout Australia and around the world.
At the end of the day she just wants people to smile when they look at her work.

“A Beautiful body perishes, but a work of art dies not.” ~ Leonardo Da Vinci”
