Sunday Paper

This scene was first painted as a mini artwork for a local Spring festival ten years ago. I have included a photo of that painting too, you can see the scale of it alongside a pencil.
Upscaling this to a large canvas allowed me to play with the shadow shape on the sand a bit more, plus add to the story with two companion artworks. All three paintings create a story about a day at the beach .

There hasn't been a time in my life where I have not loved and practised art. Childhood days were filled with drawing- many I have kept and still have now.
Visits to the Art Gallery were rare in my childhood yet I do remember always being intrigued and drawn to the portraits. Faces fascinated me then and they still do now.
Working in a sales environment for many years , but always participating in Art workshops or evening courses before finally taking the leap and studying for A Fine Arts Diploma , completed in two phases whilst raising a family .

During the last decade I have sought and obtained commissioned paintings, over 50 Pet Portraits, plus many other subject matter, as a Market stall holder and more recently with commissions through my website.
