Watercolour on paper
Signed on the front.
I have been working on series of watercolours based on local Sydney architecture. This painting is one of a series of depictions of heritage buildings on Lyons Road Drummoyne, Sydney.
Here, I was captivated by the contrast of blooms of hot pink bougainvillea against the crisp white and heritage Prussian blue fretwork of this heritage cottage, hiding behind the bright green foliage.
Of course since this painting has been completed, the house had been sold and all the amazing vegetation at the front has been stripped to leave the house looking rather exposed to the road. "You can't stop progress"...
This work comes unframed.
