Artwork Description

This contemporary painting of one of our beautiful banksias would blend with any neutrally decorated home. It’s small but would look great on a charcoal grey or white wall. My inspiration is the bush we are surrounded by in Australia. On the south coast where I live, there are so many National Parks and it’s a joy to try and capture the uniqueness of it.
Incidentally this is a smallish painting that could be upscaled to a larger size if required. I think it would look great!

Artist Bio

My path as an artist began very early in life, sketching and drawing at the kitchen table, mainly household objects, such as China and glassware. It was so easy to become absorbed in whatever the subject was.
Winning an Art Scholarship in High School, I spent three wonderful years at the National Art College of Sydney, where I enjoyed working in all the different mediums, watercolour, pen and ink, sculpture and design.
At present I’m loving working in acrylics either on canvas or birch panel. I’m based in Nowra on the beautiful south coast of NSW, Australia, and have entered various regional gallery exhibitions, as well as Sydney galleries.
My inspiration varies depending on how the mood takes me! I like to diversify my subject choices. At the moment my roses are flowering so I feel the urgency to capture them, possibly on some of my vintage china. As you can see on my page I also love the incredible variety of native plants, so gorgeous to paint.
