From a high vantage point atop a windswept sand dune, the viewer is granted a breathtaking panorama. The central focus of the artwork is the sunken sections of the undulating sand dunes, painted with meticulous detail, capturing the play of light and shadow on their surface. Their graceful curves inviting us to contemplate the passage of time and the ever-shifting sands.
As our gaze extends beyond the dunes, the distant surf, white beach and the shallow turquoise water are in stark contrast to the creamy white sand dunes. We are drawn to the the northern end of the beach, where rugged rocks stand firm against the relentless ocean waves.
This painting is a very modern, contemporary work that would look fantastic hanging in your home.

Artist Bio
Dianne commenced her career as an artist at age 52, studying a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) at Curtin University. Dianne works from her studio in Mullaloo, Western Australia.
Reflecting on her journey so far, she says:
What I have learned is that there are no short cuts – you have to put in the time and do the work. Creativity is a force to be reckoned with when you are an expressive person, the nagging urge inside me compels me to make art and face that blank canvas, to extend myself and find the courage to make those first playful marks. It is like opening ‘Pandora’s Box’ of transient reflections and immediately I am engaged.
Artist Statement
My practice has developed into an emotional performance of expressive, bold application of lines, colour, texture and shape. I work from a place of imaginative play, mark making by scraping, adding and removing, using spray paint, drawing with pens, pencils and crayons. I have an intuitive dialogue with the work. I swing from impulse to a considered mark, line, shape or colour. My abstract paintings are inspired by the various environments that I have found myself in whether environmental, domestic, psychological or industrial landscapes - colours and forms drawn from the world around me and laying dormant within. I always knew there was an abstract expressionist residing within...
