I have a thing for citrus and particularly blood oranges. As a botanical illustrator I find them fascinating and often just cut the fruit into segments to see what patterns, colours and features I will find as each fruit is actually unique and differs slightly from all others. Here is an example of me playing with cutting the orange into different segments, before drawing it rather than eating the fruit, as delicious as it is.

Artist Bio
Dominika is an artist living in the Yarra Valley. Drawing inspiration from her garden and the beautiful surrounds, she has a particular passion for representing house plants, flowers and treasures from her various collections. 'I find inspiration everywhere and am influenced by nature, my garden, and the changing seasons. I find there is beauty in every stage of the life cycle, whether it be the closed bud of a flower, a deteriorated sea shell or an autumn leaf. My main challenge being that time is limited and of all my ideas, only some will find their way to paper! My art practice is my meditation, my connection to the earth, to my family, and at times it is all encompassing in the most beautiful of ways'.
