Grapes With Lemon

Those who know me well, know that I am often cutting up citrus fruit, and not always necessarily for culinary purposes. I think they are so beautiful and so they find their way into my art practice. Here a couple of pieces were left over from props I had set up for my art students, and I couldn't get rid of them until I myself had painted them as well. I thought they needed company for the composition so added the grapes that had come home uneaten in my son's lunch box.

Dominika is an artist living in the Yarra Valley. Drawing inspiration from her garden and the beautiful surrounds, she has a particular passion for representing house plants, flowers and treasures from her various collections. 'I find inspiration everywhere and am influenced by nature, my garden, and the changing seasons. I find there is beauty in every stage of the life cycle, whether it be the closed bud of a flower, a deteriorated sea shell or an autumn leaf. My main challenge being that time is limited and of all my ideas, only some will find their way to paper!
