Artwork Description

Inspired by a beautiful tea cup that caught my eye in a second hand shop. It was made in Christchurch so I had to have it because I’m completely in love with New Zealand. Here the tea cup sits in the company of a lemon from my garden. This piece is in a series celebrating morning cups of tea and my love of bright and happy colours.

This piece partners nicely with my other still lifes, also available through Bluethumb.

It has been painted using Australian made, artist quality paints, and is beautifully textured.

Drawing inspiration from her garden and the beautiful surrounds, she has a particular passion for representing house plants, flowers and treasures from her various collections. 'I find inspiration everywhere and am influenced by nature, my garden, and the changing seasons. I find there is beauty in every stage of the life cycle, whether it be the closed bud of a flower, a deteriorated sea shell or an autumn leaf. My main challenge being that time is limited and of all my ideas, only some will find their way to paper! My art practice is my meditation, my connection to the earth, to my family, and at times it is all encompassing in the most beautiful of ways'.
