Paper Daisies With Port & Yellow Fruit

A piece inspired by the purchase of some deliciously plump lady fingers from a local green grocers. Here they sit in the company of grapefruit and lemon wedges, a small posy of paper daisies from my front garden and a glass of port that snuck its way into the painting, simply because I was having a little drink whilst assembling the composition and felt it fitted right in.

Dominika is an artist living in the Yarra Valley. Drawing inspiration from her garden and the beautiful surrounds, she has a particular passion for representing house plants, flowers and treasures from her various collections. 'I find inspiration everywhere and am influenced by nature, my garden, and the changing seasons. I find there is beauty in every stage of the life cycle, whether it be the closed bud of a flower, a deteriorated sea shell or an autumn leaf. My main challenge being that time is limited and of all my ideas, only some will find their way to paper! My art practice is my meditation, my connection to the earth, to my family, and at times it is all encompassing in the most beautiful of ways'.
