I have a wattle obsession that starts in winter with the first blooms and ends at the beginning of summer when it seems the last species stop flowering. I have what feels like an innate need to follow the blooming through my art and try to create at least one piece representing each flowering species in my area per season. The blooms for this piece came from an acacia that flowers just outside my studio window. They were placed in what was once a small vanilla essence bottle, and are posing here next to my beautifully glazed Sadler jug.
This piece is created using both watercolours and watercolour pencils.
Framed in a beautiful Australian blackwood frame with a double float mount (archival) as pictured in the mock ups.
** My watercolours, for their size, are on the expensive side because the process in creating them is quite lengthy as compared to my larger acrylic pieces. They are a labor of love and require a lot of time and care.
**This series would suit an upmarket office space as a set or individually, or anywhere an extra special piece is warranted.
