Artwork Description

'Traditional Dancing instrument,used in corroboree or in my language the budal. The clap stick is made from native trees branches which are cut and chiseled and sanded down into small oblong shapes big enough for the song man to use and they come in different sizes. In the lardil language we call it Dinindga."

Artist Bio

Born Forsythe Island on the 24/12/68 ,grew up on Mornington Island largest of the Welleslys Islands, went boarding school married had children. Carries the language name of wunda and also her and her husband Frank Watt are strong supporter's of keeping culture: lores dreaming stories language and dance .
