Artwork Description

This painting captures a dancer in a moment of ecstatic movement under a mystical, starry sky.
The background is rendered with heavily layered watercolour, building up an intense night sky. Using a "dotting" method, creating a sense of sparkling. The natural flow and bleeding of the watercolour medium itself are harnessed to evoke the illusion of mist and ethereal vapours rising around the figure.
Her crimson dress swirls with her motion. Her long, silver hair seems to emit its own soft, metallic glow against the deep colours, an effect further enhanced by the strategic use of iridescent pigment, which pushes the romantic and magical atmosphere to its zenith.
