Artwork Description

The splash-ink landscape of Chinese painting uses the patterns of the fluid itself to create people's understanding of nature rather than photographically copy it. I use the technique of splash-ink landscape to integrate the understanding of colour light and shade in oil painting and construct the unique natural feature of Australia.
The West MacDonnell ranges, Grampians and Adelaide hills… Bold eosin, ochre, gold and shiny eucalyptus bark, and rocky and tough life forms make the combination of the outback colours. The sound of the white cockatoo echoes through the canyon.
