A Song for Succulents
Steaming heat, chapped solid;
Land blooms where dreams expand,
Gold and greed bare their teeth,
Curling, withering—silent beneath.
Red like rich iron mines,
drilling roots holding tight,
Leaves may fall but life won't die.
Dig, break, crack out a way,
Surviving the drought,
My past decays.
Grow, sprout, and stand on the ground.
one leaf can grow,
new lives will be around.
Run, Chase, Sing your Song,
It is all about you,
yet I sing along.
