Artwork Description

"Summer Melody" is a vertical watercolor piece that captures the serene yet vibrant essence of a Lotus flower pond in bloom. A tiny frog peeking from back a lotus leaf, its eyes fixed on a delicate damselfly resting on a nearby stem.

Technically, the painting employs splashed-colour washes to create a dreamlike, starry background, evoking dappled light on water's surface. The flattened perspective, resembling a top-down view of shadows cast by leaves, breaks from tradition to emphasise atmosphere over realism. Through these choices, the work transcends visual representation, aiming to evoke the soft sounds of summer and the play of light, inviting the viewer into a moment of quiet, poetic resonance.
