Artwork Description

This painting deliberately reduces clarity and saturation, softening the background and distant horses while keeping the champion sharp in the foreground. Grass fragments and palette-knife scrapes add texture and speed. The outer fence carries the olive green and ochre of Australian eucalyptus — not the manicured green of Europe, but the honest colours of this land.
It is a record of ordinary life: a suburban racetrack woven into its community, and the crisp beat of Adelaide on 2026 Cup Day.
