I am currently working on a series of still lifes using primarily painting knife. I love this style as it creates a much more free approach by eliminating unnecessary detail and focusing on the main shapes and values, adding a sense of drama. This still-life painting of 'Freesias in a Yellow Vase' is so much more - they traditionally encompass feelings of trust.
