Artwork Description

This is an ORIGINAL watercolour/mixed media PAINTING of a colourful young Crimson Rosella Parrot native to Australia.
Mature Crimson Rosella would be mostly red with blue cheeks and black-scalloped blue-margined wings. Juveniles are said to 'ripen' as they get older and turn from green to red. This young bird looks a little bit scruffy and has not entirely changed its feathers colour yet. I really love all these splashes of red, orange and green!
Paper size is A5: 14.8cm by 21cm (approximately 6 inches by 8 inches).
It is painted on professional cold pressed 300gsm Watercolour paper and lightly sprayed with matt varnish for protection. Details are added using professional-quality colour pencils.

I recommend framing it behind glass for longevity and protection.
Thank you for your interest.
