A story of the early years of motherhood, Elisha shares the reality of life as a new mother. "3.30 Penne" from her "Argh! What A Mess" collection, captures a snapshot from her own life, a chaotic benchtop, a sippy bottle sits alongside a bowl as dinner preparation begins early. In the background a roll of masking tape, some panadol for mum and additional medicine for the kids, sits nearby on the windowsill. This moment in time is short lived, overwhelming and more often than not exhausting.
In this relatable work, Elisha's vibrant layers of expressive brushstrokes, bring this otherwise mundane scene to life. Her aim, to find joy among the chaos.
Its 3.30 in the afternoon, the toddler is running circles screaming and you have to start preparing dinner for the family but baby needs a bottle and why oh why is there so much junk on the kitchen counter again.
