Artwork Description

Monument Stones is a 75 × 100 cm mixed media abstract painting in acrylic and charcoal on a 3.5 cm deep stretched canvas. Three monumental stone-like forms rise against a field of blue sky and warm ochre ground, evoking the vastness and scale of the Australian outback. The surfaces are layered with sage greens, earthy browns, and pale washes, scratched and rebuilt to create a textured patina that speaks of time and endurance.
This work belongs to the Warm Neutrals + Sage series, where stone forms become symbols of resilience and connection to the land. The depth of the canvas gives the piece added presence, with finished edges ready to hang. A raw oak float frame would further enhance its impact.
