Artwork Description

Watercolour on paper

Signed on the front.

Wrens would have to be the most fascinating and delicate birds I know of. Their little legs are not even as thick as a match stick and yet they carry their rotund little bodies around at such pace! No sooner do I see them in the garden, and they have darted off into the Lilypilly hedge.
Of course the Jenny is not as striking in colour as the male, but she has a gentleness about her that captures my attention every time I see her.
Here she is perched amongst the fronds of a palm, holding on tightly with her tiny feet.
This small watercolour study seemed is fitting for her size and delicacy. Ona a background of watercolour paper on illustration board. What a lovely feature this painting would bringing a touch of the natural world to any space.

A Beautiful pink Galah, her feathers softly ruffled by a gentle breeze, is perched on the branch of a prunis tree, smothered in delicate pink and white blossoms. Spring is definitely in the air in this painting, a burst of nature at it's best.A Bronzewing pigeon is resting on a log srrounded by reeds and grasses. Its feathers are ruffled from perhaps the cold weather or from a dip in the small lake beside it. Here it is showing off the beautiful colours on the wing, of greens, bronze, blue and purple. A variety of greens and yellows colide in the background grasses behind the pigeon. There is great texture in the form of cracks and holes on the fallen log on which the bird is perched and there are patches of moss on the log. A spray of tiny pick and white wildflowers enhance nature's beauty in the foreground in front of the log.Five Yellow tailed Black Cockatoo's have come to rest in a tangle of the branches on a dry tree amongst scrubland and near a row of pine trees. Their striking black feathers trimmed with yellow with a yellow flash on their cheeks make them unique. They contrast well against the grey tones of the tree branches.
The background is a mixture of green and yellow scrubland and patchy blue sky.A large Kookaburra is sheltered amongst the branches of a Jacaranda tree and is partially hidden by the beautiful purple blossoms and delicate green leaves.
The brown and white feathers of the Kookaburra compliment the mauves and greens in the tree.
The blue feathers on the Kookaburra's wing adds a nice colour contrast.
