I love Srpingtime when the blossoms apear on the trees that line many of the streets here in central Victoria. They remind my of my childhood and playing in my back yard with my sister and cousins, underneath a multitude of fruit trees. This limited palette picture focuses on the tree and its shape and the detailed blossoms, it needs no other background detail as the tree is a feature in itself. I started off with a rather deatiled drawing then added the ink work and finally the watercolours on a background of watercolour paper on illustration board. A nice addition to any space because of its simplicity and yet intense detail.
