'Watermelon Slice' is a playful yet personal work, referencing the joyful nostalgia of eating watermelon in my grandmother’s backyard as a child. As the eldest of all the grandchildren, Young family barbecues were consistent over the years as I gained siblings and cousins while growing older. Although, I was never promoted to eating watermelon indoors with the adults; forever grouped with the children outside, to spit our seeds onto the grass. The simplicities of childhood are presented here through the complexity of multiple glass processes.
