Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

Recently awarded the 'Young Artist Excellence Award' for this piece in the SPLASH exhibition held by the royal Queensland arts society.

The judges comments are as follows: This piece impressed me in the handling of the medium and the use of atmospheric perspective underwater. It is a good composition, delicately rendered and observed.
Judge (Jane James)

Featuring an Achilles tang, powder black tang and chromas fish, all of which call home a stunning orange ochre brain coral.

I took inspiration from my experience on the great barrier reef mid 2022. Using some of the references photos I had taken during my snorkel off the coast of Cairns.

I call these pieces little windows to the reef. In a moment, they can transport you to an underwater world.
Rich in colour and movement, this piece is eye catching and refreshing.
